What is interim management?

Interim management, or management for hire, means that a business hires an experienced and competent leader for a limited period. Rapid access when the need is urgent By hiring an interim manager through Agile Interim, you get rapid access to the right leadership expertise. The need for an experienced leader who can step in at short notice can arise suddenly, for example if a company is going through a transformation process or a crisis occurs. It can also arise if the business only has a short-term need for a leader, for example in connection with a project, planned leave or long-term sick leave.

Because the need for a temporary leader can be urgent, using an interim manager is often a faster and better option than a lengthy recruitment process that delays the temporary leader’s start. A company that hires out interim managers can present experienced, skilled candidates within 48 hours.

Operational from day one!

An interim manager can join the company’s management team immediately. In practice, an interim manager is a stand-in manager who handles the day-to-day tasks and is operational from day one. If the interim manager is responsible for a project, he or she takes on the project manager role, reporting to a line or staff function. Unlike a hired consultant, who concentrates on analysis and advice, the interim manager has line responsibility and focuses on operations, value creation and implementation.

Tailored assignments

The length of an interim assignment will vary according to your needs. An assignment usually lasts between six and twelve months, but it can be both shorter and longer. The agreed period can also be shortened or extended during the interim period if necessary. When you hire an interim manager from us, you therefore have great flexibility to tailor the assignment as you wish.

The right leadership expertise

As an interim management company, we have a substantial database of candidates who can step into leadership roles at short notice. Our database includes all types of interim managers with a wide range of backgrounds and specialist expertise. We make sure that we always have skilled CEOs, CFOs, sales directors and HR managers with transformation expertise, as well as procurement managers, available – and there are many other roles too.

What the leaders in our pool have in common is that they have experience as leaders and can point to documented results. That is essential for stepping into a role at very short notice and finding your bearings in a new company and among new colleagues. They are also used to working hard and purposefully to a mandate and delivering on the business’s needs. That is an important driving force for this type of leader. Whether you need to develop your business in the right strategic direction and need extra resources to do so, or you are facing a major project, you can – and should – feel completely confident that we will find the right interim manager for your exact needs.

We only want interim managers who contribute to positive results and add lasting expertise to the companies they work in.
